For this workshop we will go on a pasture walk with Bob Cannon of Rock Ledge Farm and Robbie Miles of NRCS. Bob raises and rotationally grazes heritage, registered, naturally polled Dexter cattle. His beef is grass-fed and grass-finished and sold direct-to-consumer at the Bristol Farmers Market. He uses a very efficient wagon-wheel pasture design and currently rotates his herd once every three days through 7 acres. We will hear from Bob about how he has utilized NRCS cost-share practices to create his system, what kind of seed and inputs he uses on his pasture, and anything else about his operation folks are interested in. We will also hear from Robbie Miles of NRCS about the NRCS programs available to local farmers and what that application and implementation process looks like.
