Celebrating 30 Years of Cultivating Common Ground
At ARC&D we feel it is important to not only be engaged and helping in the very real, immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene, but that it's also important to keep a long view perspective that a new day does dawn bringing fresh, new opportunities. We see ourselves as a bridge that our community can utilize to make that crossing. This event can be just that, cultivating common ground for many years to come. On Saturday, November 16, join us for “Cultivating Common Ground,” a special FREE open house event celebrating Appalachian RC&D’s 30th anniversary. We’re bringing the entire region together as one to support local agriculture, food access for all our local communities, and protect the natural beauty of Appalachia…and we invite you to celebrate with us! Proudly sponsored by our partners: Brushy Fork Environmental Consulting, Blackburn Childers & Stegall, TN Farm Credit - Rural First, First Bank and Trust, TN Farm Bureau - Gray, EgwardRagan, and CainRashWest Architects.
- LIVE music by Kris Truelsen and the Farm and Fun Time House Band
- Small bites featuring local food and cookies by Side Hustle Custom Cookies
- A special sourwood honey lager release from JCBC with Roan Mountain Honey
- The painting of a anniversary quilt block together
- Lawn games
- Displays of the ARCD's programs and impact
Cultivating Common Ground is a free event, open to the public. You will notice a chance to donate in recognition of the 30 years of work we've done in the region and to support the next 30 years ahead of us.
Join us in giving $30 for 30 as we look to raise funds to carry our work into the future.
We deeply appreciate the support of our community over these past 30 years and will continue to bring together Northeast Tennessee to promote, protect and wisely utilize our history and cultural heritage, natural resources, and agricultural roots to enhance our local economies, food security, and quality of life. Thank you for joining us in this work!
