The 6th Annual Northeast Tennessee Farm Tour & Concert on JUNE 21 – 1PM – 8PM. More than 20 farms will be open for you in Sullivan, Greene and Washington counties to visit, pet farm animals, see beautiful places, purchase local products and learn how your food is grown & raised. After the Tour…. come to a benefit concert for the Appalachian RC&D Council at Whispering Oaks Farm, Gray, with The Barefoot Movement!
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION! Are you ready to turnip the beet?
Roles and Responsibilities:
Volunteers are essential to the success of the farm tour and we are grateful to have you. They assist with various tasks, including:
- Welcoming and directing visitors at farm sites
- Answering visitors questions about where else to go on the farm tour
- Some help with parking depending on the farm location
- Concert Set Up & Breakdown
While farms will be providing their own support staff, additional volunteers from the ARCD help make sure farm tour visitors are counted, directed, and have a welcoming experience.
Volunteer Perks:
1) Volunteers receive a Limited Edition VegHead Farm Tour T-Shirt, and get to have a hands on learning experience on a farm, and get farm animal snuggles...
2) Volunteers can also choose their choice of a ARCD branded stainless steel water bottle or ARCD branded Bento Box.
3) Volunteers will also receive their choice of either a:
- A farm tour ticket to gift to someone else
- A ticket to the benefit concert featuring The Barefoot Movement at Whispering Oaks Farm in Gray, TN, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
What to Bring:
To ensure a comfortable and fun experience, volunteers should bring:
- Sturdy, weather & farm-appropriate footwear
- Rain umbrella, coat, boots, if it rains! We do it rain or shine.
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- A refillable water bottle
- A cooler or freezer bags for purchasing perishable farm products
- Cash for on-site purchases, as not all vendors may accept cards
- Please Note: Pets are not permitted on the farm tour to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees and farm animals.
