Biochar Workshop
- Join ARC&D, Dan Hettinger of Circleworks, and Nolichucky Outdoor Recreation Association for a hands-on biochar workshop in Erwin. Come out for a fun day to learn how to make biochar and how it can be applied to your land and/or farm.
- What is biochar? Biochar is a natural soil amendment produced by charring wood under low oxygen conditions. Dan Hettinger will lead the workshop, along with ARC&D staff.
- Participants can expect to learn what biochar is, its benefits, how to make it, and how to apply it to your land to help rebuild or improve your soil.
- We will have a potluck lunch, so please bring a dish to share! Plates, napkins, and utensils will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
- Please bring a water bottle, gloves (for picking up branches, sticks, etc), warm clothes and a dish to share!
